  1. What are the Excess Coverage⁄CDW options?
    Each car rental comes with standard comprehensive insurance and with excess (approx. $3000) that can be reduced to a smaller amount by paying an optional extra fee (approx. $25 per day). See terms of conditions of each car rental company for exact amounts.

    Alternatively check T&C’s of cards such as Amex Gold or Visa Platinum which generally include excess coverage. Or buy comprehensive travel insurance from as little as $11 per day including $4000 rental vehicle excess cover.


  2. Will I be charged to failing to show up?
    No. You will not be charged any amount if you fail to show up. However we do encourage you to modify or cancel your booking via the "Modify-Cancel" link.


  3. Do I need a credit card to rent a car?
    Yes.  You will need a credit card with the driver(s) name on it when you pick up the car.


  4. How old do I need to be to rent a car?
    In most cases you need to be a minimum of 25 years old with a FULL licence to rent a car. BUT you can still rent a car if you are over 21 years old. In this case a mandatory surcharge usually applies and the in ability to lower excess charges may also apply. This varies from country to country and company to company. Some vehicle types may also be restricted.


  5. Are the quotes comprehensive of all fees and charges?
    Quotes are comprehensive for Airport Recovery fees, Premium Location Surcharges, Goods, Services and Sales taxes, and 3rd party insurance. Optional extras such as additional insurance are not included in the quotes. These may be purchased at the counter. Child Seats‚ Excess Reduction


  6. How do I make a change to my car rental booking?
    The easiest way to modify or cancel your booking is through our sites "Modify-Cancel" link. You will then need to click the link to your chosen car rental company and enter your Booking Number and Last Name in order to modify or cancel your car rental booking.


  7. Will my drivers license work in another country?
    If you have held a valid, unrestricted drivers license, for a minimum of 12 months and it is in English you will not require an international permit. If you do not have these prerequisites then you will need an international permit. All documents must be original. No photocopies are recognised.


  8. Can I make a reservation for a One Way car rental?
    Yes you can. When requesting a quote those car rental companies servicing and allowing one way rentals between the two locations will appear in the search results page. Please note that One Way Rentals may incur a One Way Fee.


  9. Will I be charged if there is an additional driver?
    When there is more than one driver associated with a car rental, the second and any subsequent drivers are referred to as the additional driver(s). There may be a charge applied for additional driver.


  10. Can I get a baby seat for my newborn?
    Infant capsules (rear facing for children upto a year old and 9kgs) - only Hertz books infant capsules online. Other companies only provide child seats (forward facing for children 9 to 18kgs). You can reserve the applicable seat during the booking process and payment is due upon vehicle pick up.
