Project Description

An innovative educator focused on classroom behavior management sought a rapid, easy-to-use mobile app to track student conduct in real time. The goal was to improve classroom dynamics with minimal disruption. The requirement included building a PowerApp integrated with Excel to streamline student behavior logging and analysis with minimal interface complexity.

Scope Of Work

The project aimed to simplify real-time student behavior tracking during live classroom sessions. The client needed a mobile-friendly PowerApp to display rosters from 6 classes, allow quick student selection, track behavior points with "+" or "–" buttons, optionally log reasons, and store time-stamped actions. Key areas of work included UI design, Excel integration, and real-time tracking.

Our Solution

To meet the client’s need for fast and functional behavior tracking, a custom PowerApp was developed using a clean, responsive interface that could be operated on the go. The Excel backend was configured as a dynamic data source, allowing the teacher to update student lists without any coding effort.

Key Features Implemented:

  • Class-Based Navigation: A simple landing screen lets the user select from six distinct classes, each pulling roster data directly from an Excel sheet.
  • One-Tap Behavior Logging: Easy "+" and "–" buttons next to each student enable fast behavior point changes without navigating multiple screens.
  • Optional Reason Dropdown: A collapsible dropdown allows the teacher to log a reason when needed, without interrupting workflow.
  • Real-Time Timestamping: Each input is automatically time-stamped and logged for future reference or reporting.
