Credebt, a fast-growing financial services platform, specializes in delivering secure and scalable cloud-based solutions. Seeking to optimize their AWS environment, they approached Oodles Platform to audit services, eliminate redundant instances, and strengthen security. The project centered on streamlining operations, securing access points, and reducing unnecessary cloud expenses.
Scope Of Work
The project involved auditing all active AWS services and instances, documenting their mappings with applications, terminating unused resources, and enhancing security by closing old SSH and VPN gateways. The primary goal was to improve cost-efficiency, fortify system security, and ensure seamless access to applications and databases without service interruptions.
Our Solution
The project kicked off with a comprehensive audit of the AWS ecosystem to catalog all active services and their associated applications. After careful analysis, redundant services were systematically identified and safely terminated to control ongoing costs without impacting live operations. Parallelly, every active SSH and VPN gateway was mapped and documented before being securely replaced with newly created gateways to ensure secure access. Tools like AWS CloudWatch, AWS Config, and Terraform were leveraged to monitor, manage, and automate deployments. The team ensured that all newly configured gateways provided uninterrupted connectivity while effectively eliminating security vulnerabilities from old access points. By following a structured DevOps approach, the project successfully delivered a secure, optimized, and well-documented cloud environment, enabling Credebt to scale operations with improved security and reduced overhead costs.
