The Mall was a Unity-based game project initiated by client William Wheeler, targeting a refined and immersive card-based gaming experience. The project aimed to incorporate professionally designed 2D and 3D visual elements into a game environment using Unity. The client required close coordination on card aesthetics, logos, and texture styles while ensuring seamless integration into the game’s existing development pipeline. 

Scope Of Work

The client required design reskinning and game-ready assets for a Unity-based card game experience. Specifically, the client needed original 2D/3D card designs with refined textures, dynamic visual presentations, and backend-ready file formatting for Unity integration. The scope also involved enabling a streamlined design-to-Unity pipeline to allow programmers to plug and play assets into the functional game logic. Real-time collaboration, file sharing, and timely iterations were critical to the development process.

Our Solution

To meet the client’s creative and technical requirements, we delivered the following:

  • Designed custom 2D card assets with logo, border trims, and back textures as per client’s brand direction (e.g., gold trims, cigar leaf patterns).
  • Created 3D card models in .fbx format to add depth and realism to in-game elements.
  • Reskinned game components and visual interfaces to align with the client’s aesthetic expectations.
  • Integrated all assets into Unity with developer-ready organization and annotations for smooth implementation.
  • Delivered front-and-back animation previews for client approvals using rendered GIFs and video formats.
  • Coordinated over Zoom and Upwork daily to ensure alignment on design changes, feedback incorporation, and final approval timelines.
  • Provided a complete demo of the design-to-Unity workflow for internal client understanding and future scalability.
