Project Description

A U.S.-based IoT and device management company delivering high-impact video streaming solutions partnered with Oodles to automate the cloud deployment of its S1 service. The client required a secure, scalable AWS architecture capable of handling multi-environment deployments, domain management, and edge-optimized API routing.

Scope Of Work

The client sought a solution with Oodles to simplify and automate the S1 service deployment over AWS while maintaining infrastructure security and modularity. The scope included API Gateway setup, CloudFormation stack orchestration, Route 53 DNS configuration, SES integration, IAM policy creation, and versioned container deployment via ECR. The focus was on improving deployment efficiency, cloud governance, and service scalability.

Our Solution

To fulfill the client’s requirement for a streamlined, secure, and automated deployment ecosystem, the S1 service was implemented using a CloudFormation-driven approach across pre-deployment and deployment phases.

Key Features Implemented

  • CloudFormation Automation: Created infrastructure stacks for Lambda, RDS, API Gateway, S3, and DynamoDB. 
  • Multi-Phase Deployment Flow: Segregated into Sercomm Pre-Deployment (for certificate generation, image uploads, and CloudFormation preparation) and Customer Deployment (for DNS, SES, and domain verification tasks).
  • API Gateway + Route 53 Integration: Enabled edge-optimized, secure APIs with custom domain names mapped via Route 53 and SSL configured using AWS Certificate Manager.
  • ECR for Service Versions: Managed RMS, Wakeup, and RDS Data services using Amazon ECR for easy deployment, rollback, and version management.
