A US-based oilfield services provider specializing in digital field operations partnered with Oodles to streamline its internal tool for managing key operational workflows. The client needed a lightweight, modular UI to manage business objects like Work Orders and Shipments with simplified navigation.

The client sought Oodles to simplify complex field operations by unifying multiple business objects under a single, user-friendly interface. The client required a customizable layout for job views, list views, and dashboards, integrated within their Ruby on Rails environment. Key areas of work included UI framework restructuring, reusable component design, and dashboard configuration.

Our Solution

To meet the client’s operational goals, Oodles redesigned the UI framework to provide a consistent, responsive, and modular experience for handling various field assets. Key features include:

  • Standardized List Views: Designed and implemented reusable list views for core business objects including Bids, Jobs, Inventory Items, Work Orders, Purchase Orders, Shipments, and Incidents.
  • Configurable Dashboard Views: Integrated dashboard mockups provided by the client, enabling easy switching between layout options to visualize critical data at a glance.
  • Lightweight UI Architecture: Developed a flexible front-end architecture with reusable components and layout patterns that aligned with field technician workflows.
  • Job Detail Customization: Enhanced the job detail view to support fast access to relevant field-level data while maintaining compatibility with the existing Ruby on Rails backend.
