Project Description

Stickboy KT approached us via Upwork to build a high-performance mobile application for both iOS and Android platforms. The application’s primary feature was a dynamic Google Maps interface displaying tracked assets in real-time. The project required a skilled React developer with experience in geospatial visualizations, REST API integration, and real-time updates.

Scope Of Work

The client needed a cross-platform mobile application built with React (likely React Native) to support a range of advanced mapping and tracking features. Key requirements included the ability to display the real-time location of tracked assets on Google Maps, support for user interactions like pinch-to-zoom and panning, and the integration of geofence overlays and map pins. The app also needed to show the user’s own location and work seamlessly with an existing REST API. Performance optimization across both iOS and Android platforms was critical, with layouts adaptable to phone and tablet devices. Additionally, the project required close developer collaboration and availability during 8 AM to 2 PM EST to align with the client’s team schedule.

Our Solution

We developed and delivered a real-time asset tracking mobile app with:

  • React Native framework to enable fast, native-like experiences on iOS and Android
  • Integrated Google Maps SDK with geofencing, pin clustering, and custom map overlays
  • Configured real-time updates using WebSockets and REST polling hybrid strategy
  • Designed adaptive layouts supporting phones and tablets
  • Implemented user location detection with permissions and privacy controls
  • Ensured seamless collaboration with the client’s backend team for REST API integration
  • Set up CI/CD pipeline for builds and testing on both platforms
