A fast-scaling logistics technology provider, focused on asset tracking and real-time mapping, approached Oodles to automate their object GPS tracking system. The goal was to simplify location intelligence using serverless infrastructure. The team delivered an efficient AWS-based setup to ensure quick deployment, seamless integration, and secure data processing.

Scope Of Work

The project aimed to automate object-level GPS mapping through a cloud-native approach with experts at Oodles. The client required a real-time setup for tracking objects with minimal infrastructure overhead. The engagement covered backend automation, API connectivity, cloud storage, and role-based access configurations to support a scalable tracking solution.

Our Solution

The team set up a secure and serverless architecture using AWS services to implement the object GPS tracking system. The setup began with the creation of a new AWS environment, followed by defining IAM roles to control access and permissions effectively.

Key stages included:

  • Lambda Function Setup: A lightweight and scalable function was configured to process location data dynamically.
  • S3 Bucket Configuration: Code assets and relevant data were hosted securely using Amazon S3.
  • Dependency Layer Creation: All required dependencies were packaged in an AWS Lambda layer for clean execution.
  • API Gateway Integration: A RESTful API Gateway was established to expose the Lambda function to external systems, enabling real-time interaction.
  • IAM Role Assignment: Appropriate permissions were granted through IAM roles, ensuring secure and granular access control.
