Project Description

The client aimed to leverage OptaPlanner, a Java-based optimization tool, to address vehicle routing challenges. They recognized the importance of efficient route planning in their operations. Oodles collaborated with the client to utilize OptaPlanner’s capabilities, focusing on optimizing vehicle routing and scheduling. This effort aimed to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve logistics and transportation management.

Scope Of Work

The client sought to address vehicle routing challenges through OptaPlanner, a Java-based optimization tool, to improve route planning efficiency. They reached out to Oodles to implement OptaPlanner and optimize their vehicle routing and scheduling processes. Oodles provided a comprehensive solution, including the integration of OptaPlanner, configuration of routing algorithms, and performance tuning. This implementation aimed to enhance operational efficiency, reduce transportation costs, and streamline logistics management. The successful deployment of OptaPlanner significantly improved the client's route planning and overall transportation effectiveness.

Our Solution

For the OptaPlanner Java Vehicle Routing project, Our solution encompassed the following services and technologies: 

  • Leveraged OptaPlanner, a Java-based optimization tool, to create a customized solution for job rostering of workers and vehicle routing.
  • Utilized OptaPlanner Version 7.43.1.final and Java Version 8 to implement the optimization services.
  • Employed Spring Boot as the framework for building the backend system.
  • Developed the solution with the IDE IntelliJ version 2020.3.
  • Provided one dedicated backend developer with expertise in Java and Spring Boot to ensure the successful deployment and customization of the OptaPlanner-based solution.
