Cotaxigo, a France-based mobility platform, aimed to simplify urban travel by enabling users to share taxi fares efficiently. Seeking a seamless and scalable mobile solution, the client required cross-platform apps with a robust backend to ensure real-time connectivity, cost-sharing accuracy, and a smooth user experience. The project focused on developing iOS, Android, and PHP-backend components to meet these requirements.
Scope Of Work
The client sought Oodles to confront the challenge of creating a reliable taxi fare-sharing solution accessible across mobile platforms. Key areas included mobile application development for iOS and Android, backend API development, database integration, and real-time ride-matching functionality. The goal was to provide a scalable, user-friendly platform that facilitated efficient ride sharing and accurate fare calculation.
Our Solution
Cotaxigo was delivered as a fully integrated, cross-platform solution designed to simplify ride sharing while ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability. The implementation included:
- iOS Application Setup: Complete Xcode setup with CocoaPods integration, Git cloning, and workspace configuration for seamless development and deployment.
- Android Application Setup: Android Studio setup, Gradle configuration, and repository cloning with stepwise guidance to run the project efficiently on devices.
- PHP Backend: XAMPP-based local setup with database configuration, project cloning, and API integration to support real-time ride matching and fare-sharing functionality.
- Database Integration: Structured MySQL database setup to manage user data, trip records, and fare calculations.
- Real-Time Ride Matching: Backend algorithms for matching passengers sharing rides in real-time, ensuring efficiency and reliability.
