With a growing market of phone-in orders, the client approached Oodles to build an AI-driven voice agent capable of taking food orders, guiding customers through menu options, and triggering timely post-order review requests. The solution aimed to reduce manual workload while improving order accuracy and upsell potential.
Scope Of Work
The client sought Oodles for an AI voice assistant capable of handling end-to-end food ordering over calls, suggesting upsells, and sending automated review prompts. The project covered areas like voice UI design, NLP-powered menu parsing, Twilio-based telephony integration, CRM connectivity, and upsell logic. The goal was to build an interactive, scalable MVP to handle real-time customer requests without human intervention.

To meet the client's requirements, Oodles engineered an AI-powered voice ordering system that processed takeaway requests via phone using conversational flows.
Key Features:
- Voice-Driven Menu Navigation: Enabled customers to call, listen to menu items, place orders, and receive confirmations via an AI voice assistant.
- Upsell Recommendations: Used NLP models to identify opportunities for combo offers or high-value add-ons based on customer selections.
- Automated Follow-Ups: Integrated Twilio to send SMS/email review prompts exactly one hour after order completion.
- Fallback and Retry Logic: Implemented smart call flows to handle missed responses, incomplete orders, or repeat queries smoothly.
