Tim Elleray approached Oodles to create a highlight video for a U/15 rugby team event. The objective was to consolidate 25 to 30 short clips of varying lengths into a single cohesive video for TV playback. The focus was on maintaining clean pacing, clear sequencing, and an engaging viewing experience suitable for a live event with a strict deadline.
Scope Of Work
The project focused on reviewing and consolidating multiple short video clips into a structured highlight sequence. This included selecting key moments, applying basic quality enhancements, adding smooth transitions, and integrating background music. Branding elements like team logo and images were incorporated while continuously updating the edit as new clips were added under tight timelines.

Our solution for this project involved a structured yet flexible execution approach under strict time constraints:
- Initiated editing with partial footage while remaining clips were still being uploaded to avoid delays and keep momentum intact
- Built a modular sequence structure that allowed seamless insertion of new clips without disrupting overall pacing
- Selected high-impact moments across all clips to maintain engagement while avoiding repetition or unnecessary length
- Applied consistent quality adjustments to balance footage shot across different lighting and conditions
- Designed transitions and pacing suitable for large screen viewing, ensuring clarity without making the video feel rushed
- Integrated team branding through logo placement and opening visuals while aligning them naturally within the sequence
- Delivered a working version within hours of receiving final clips to meet the event deadline without missing usability
- Incorporated post-delivery feedback such as slower transitions and additional branding placements while maintaining playback readiness
