Marina Zubrod approached Oodles for urgent editing of vlog-style Instagram Reels documenting her breast augmentation journey. The content required emotional storytelling using raw footage, photos and voiceovers. What began as a 3-hour turnaround expanded into multiple reels and story slides with evolving creative direction and continuous feedback.
Scope Of Work
The project focused on editing 2 Instagram Reels and creating 3 story slides per reel using unstructured footage. It involved building a clear narrative, adding subtitles, syncing voiceovers and applying clean pacing with text overlays. Additional requirements included timestamp formatting, safe-zone optimization, and multiple revisions based on real-time feedback and style changes.
Our Solution
Our solution for this project required structuring content while adapting to constant changes in direction and timelines:
- Built a 5-scene narrative from scattered footage covering intro, backstory, conflict, decision, and a cliffhanger ending
- Applied clean cuts, controlled pacing, and minimal transitions to maintain a natural and relatable storytelling flow
- Delivered draft sequences first to align on direction, allowing copy and voiceover decisions to evolve post-edit
- Refined text overlays for readability after feedback and adjusted placement based on updated platform safe zones
- Integrated voiceover as captions in the second reel with accurate subtitle syncing and German timestamp formatting
- Iterated across multiple versions to correct subtitles, timing, naming errors, and visual inconsistencies
- Designed story slides as sequential teasers, shifting from repetitive snippets to structured previews that build context
- Managed delivery across tight timelines and ongoing revisions while maintaining consistency in tone, pacing, and visual style
