Project Description

West Law Firm LC partnered with Oodles to convert a 55 minute Buddhist pilgrimage talk by Brooks West into an illustrated video. The goal was to transform a static talking head into a calm, visually supported narrative using relevant imagery of holy sites, while preserving original audio and maintaining a minimal, respectful viewing experience throughout.

Scope Of Work

The client approached Oodles to convert a long form talk into a visually engaging format without disturbing its tone. The project required reviewing the full video, sourcing accurate site imagery, aligning visuals with narration, integrating client provided media, and maintaining a calm pacing. The scope also included multiple revisions where structure, visuals, and presentation style evolved based on feedback.

Our Solution

Our solution for this project focused on controlled execution under shifting direction and strict content sensitivity:

  • Reviewed and mapped the full 55 minute talk to identify precise visual insertion points based on narrative flow.
  • Sourced accurate imagery of key Buddhist locations and aligned them with contextual references in the audio.
  • Built the initial structure using minimal transitions and subtle motion to preserve a calm and respectful tone.
  • Adjusted the edit by removing motion effects and captions after feedback to achieve a more still and minimal output.
  • Reworked the video structure from a synchronized narrative format to a flexible slideshow using client provided pilgrimage images.
  • Prioritized client media while retaining only essential reference visuals for accuracy and context.
  • Balanced audio by reducing background music levels to keep the speaker clear and dominant.
  • Delivered multiple revisions including structural changes and factual corrections to ensure alignment with the intended narrative.
