Virbac partnered with Oodles to implement a data-driven forecasting, production planning, and procurement solution using five years of historical sales data. The system was designed to support demand forecasting, CMO-based production planning, and raw material requirement planning, enabling better visibility, control, and decision-making across planning functions.
Scope Of Work
The client engaged Oodles to build forecasting, production, and procurement planning modules aligned with Virbac’s operational model. The scope included generating six-month production plans based on forecasted demand, closing stock at Virbac CFA and CMOs, lead times, batch sizes, and inventory targets. It also covered controlled user access, monthly data uploads, plan sharing with CMOs, and Excel-based exports. The procurement scope focused on calculating raw material requirements for key APIs using finalized production plans, BOM data, and opening stock at CMOs, with view-only access for procurement teams. Phase two was defined to extend support for primary and secondary logistics processes.
Our Solution
Oodles delivered an integrated planning system that consolidates forecasting, production, and procurement workflows into a single platform. The solution applies statistical forecasting models with approval workflows, generates CMO-aligned production plans, and computes raw material purchase quantities using BOM and inventory data. Role-based access controls, forecast accuracy reporting, monthly data uploads, and Excel exports ensure operational flexibility and transparency. The architecture was designed to support future expansion into logistics planning.
