Chevron Retail Gas Stations' owner required a custom web-based POS system to streamline checkout operations, inventory tracking, and business reporting. The client sought a unified application that runs on POS hardware and mobile devices while maintaining a single backend and database. The engagement delivered a centralized retail management platform integrating cashier workflows, mobile inventory control, and reporting.

Scope Of Work

The client sought Oodles to replace disconnected retail tools with a unified POS ecosystem. Key Areas of Work (AOWs) included POS frontend development, mobile inventory module creation, admin dashboard design, backend architecture setup, and centralized database integration. The solution focused on real-time transaction processing, accurate stock management, secure role-based access, and seamless device compatibility across POS terminals and mobile devices.

Our Solution

• POS Frontend (Cashier Mode): Developed an intuitive checkout interface optimized for POS tablets and PCs, enabling barcode scanning, tax calculations, receipt generation, shift tracking, and rapid transaction handling.

• Mobile Inventory Module: Built a mobile-responsive interface for employees to scan products, adjust stock levels, monitor inventory thresholds, and maintain accurate item records in real time.

• Admin Dashboard & Reporting: Created a centralized dashboard allowing the owner to manage pricing, configure products, track sales performance, generate reports, and oversee operational settings.

• Unified Backend Architecture: Engineered a single backend connected to one centralized relational database, ensuring consistent data state between sales, inventory, and reporting systems.

• Role-Based Access & Security Controls: Implemented structured access permissions for cashiers, staff, and management, supported by secure authentication and session management protocols.

• API-Driven System Design: Structured the application using modular APIs to support scalability, device compatibility, and future feature expansion.
